Jeffrey S. Sherbow is the Principal concentrating his practice in all areas of litigation. His areas of expertise include all areas of civil litigation, family law, criminal law, intellectual property, copyright, trademark and employment law.
While Mr. Sherbow’s practice focus is primarily in litigation, he has considerable non-litigation experience, including counseling clients on domestic and international IP matters, negotiating and drafting a wide array of agreements, serving as a mediator for business and family related matters and providing counsel to domestic and international companies in primarily the medical, transportation, entertainment, human resources, internet, retail, e-commerce, hospitality and marketing industries.
Mr. Sherbow received a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from Monteith College, Wayne State University in 1972, a law degree from John Marshall Law School in 1975, and was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1975. He has also been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District and Western District of Michigan, as well as before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Mr. Sherbow has tried cases in the District, Circuit and Federal Courts throughout the State of Michigan and in other States Pro Hac Vice.
Mr. Sherbow has taught classes at Walsh College on “Reducing Workers’ Compensation Costs”, as well as numerous other seminars regarding loss prevention by understanding the trial process for retail and wholesale clients, with an emphasis in litigation cost reduction.
Mr. Sherbow is a Wayne County Mediator, Michigan Defense Trial Counsel and the Association of Defense Trial Counsel. His State Bar of Michigan section memberships include Negligence law, Workers’ Compensation Law and Family Law.
Mr. Sherbow was formerly the elected Mayor of the City of Pleasant Ridge, Michigan for six years, serving three consecutive terms.
Additionally, Mr. Sherbow has been exclusive counsel in the State of Michigan for Walmart, in all venues of litigation, including premises, auto and labor. Mr. Sherbow continues to represent national clients with a high self insured retention level.
He has received numerous civic awards and is AV Rated (highest peer group recognition for lawyers) by Martindale.
